Heart-Shaped Sugar Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup Vivatta Maida
  2. 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  3. 10 tablespoons Butter (Unsalted)
  4. 1/3 cup Chilled Water
  5. 1/2 cup Sugar (Use half the quantity with I’m lite– 1/4 cup)
  6. 2 tablespoons Vivatta Maida, for dusting

Steps:

  1. In a medium bowl, add the flour and salt. Stir to mix.
  2. Next, cube the butter and then add it to the flour bowl. Using a pastry blender or two knives, cut the butter into the dough.
  3. Make a hole in the center of the dough and pour in all of the water. Using a fork, stir to combine the dough.
  4. Flour a cutting board, and add the dough. Pat it into a rough square. The dough will come together with each roll.
  5. Flour the rolling pin, and roll the dough out in front of you into a rectangle of approximately 10 inches.
  6. Fold the bottom third of the dough over the middle of the dough.
  7. Fold the upper third of the dough on top of the middle too. Rotate the dough one-quarter turn, and repeat.
  8. Use additional flour as needed to prevent the dough from sticking.
  9. Roll out, fold, and turn the dough atleast 6 or 7 times. Refrigerate it preferably overnight.
  10. Remove the dough and roll it in 1/4 inch thin sheet. Cover it with I’m lite.
  11. Now start rolling the pastry inwards from both corners. Cut it 1/4 inch pieces.
  12. Bake it at 375 F for 15 mins then turn the pastry and bake it for additional 10 min so both the sides are brown and crispy. Serve this treat when done.
